The Muleshoe Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture has Howled at the Mule at the Heritage Center, the Bailey County Coliseum, and this year at the Oneita Wagnon Senior Center on October 25 so everyone could stay dry inside. It was noisy, crowded, and busy with lots of fun costumes, tricky games,  and happy smiles. Well, smiles when you could see them through the masks! It was a Halloween celebration, after all, so some costumed folks were hard to identify.

Chamber/Heritage Center manager Bernadette Bradley sent me a list of 30 people and organizations that provided games, food booths, and information booths for the event. It was a community effort, and judging from all the cute costumes running around, it was a community success. Because we were inside, the noise level was high and everyone was busy playing games and moving around. I realized I couldn’t get the names of everyone I took pictures of.  And considering I took too many pictures to share in this blog, I will just have to show you some of fun costumes I enjoyed seeing on all the kids. So, here we go in no particular order.

I know I missed getting pictures of all the costumes, and I am sorry I can’t use all the costumes I did get pictures of in the story. Many of the details of the costumes were on the back, so the dilemma was to take a picture from the front so the child’s face shows, or take one from the back to show the neat details of their costumes! The only way for you to enjoy both sides of the dilemma is to show up next year when costumes become the highlight of the day.

Happy Halloween!

Thanks to Bernadette Bradley for her help with the story. And more pictures of kids and costumes can be seen on Terry Brewster’s website, Reflections in Time.
