The Lubbock Book Festival sponsored by Literacy Lubbock will be Saturday and Sunday, October 15-16, at the Mahon Pubic Library, and I will be there! My second book is a work in progress right now, but I expect it to be ready before Christmas, and I want to give readers a chance to see what it’s all about.

My first book, The Bright Lights of Muleshoe, is about all things Muleshoe. This book, Adventures Down the Texas Rabbit Hole, still has stories about Muleshoe, but I had other stories that I wanted to share. The section titled “Lone Star Stories” is about all things Texas, with some topics you might not expect. Another section is “Animals I Have Loved;” dogs, cats, horses, stories those of you who also have four-legged members of the family can relate to. Well, those of you without animals in your life can appreciate these stories, too. And then there are “Stories Near and Dear to My Heart.” That title may be a bit of a cliché, but they are about family memories and personal events that we can relate to because they deal with  human experiences we all share.

I would love to visit with you and share the book with you. You can give me your contact information and I can let you know when the book is available for purchase. Or you can make a pre-publication purchase and I will get the book to you. I will also have copies of The Bright Lights of Muleshoe in case you would like to purchase that one.

Besides books for sale, writing workshops and panels will also be available. Outside, musical entertainment and other things will be going on as well.

The Mahon Public Library is located at 1306 9th Street in Lubbock. The festival will be open from 10 to 6 Saturday, October 15th and 1 to 5 on Sunday, the 16th.

Would love to see you.
